Hi everyone,

Was wondering if anyone has ever had to take legal action against crypto exchange?
I have about 50k worth of eth which I deposited into my ice3x account, but they never credited it.
The transaction took place on 14 Dec 2017, and I don't get any more responses from the ticket I logged. I understand if problems occur, and I've been patient, but I feel I have waited enough.

Ice3x is a business that deal with money, they should have resolved my problem a long time ago, especially considering its not just a few Rands.

Any advice would be greatful

Where did you deposit from? Have you checked the transaction went through?

Do you have the txid of the transfer?
Does it show that the ETH was successfully processed by the blockchain and goes from your wallet to the ICE3X deposit address?

The deposit was from another exchange and it was a smart contract and it 100% completed successfully. Ice3x have it.
ice3x has a warning now to rather not do smart transfers but this warning only started appearing after my transfer.(I won't do smart again) I have also done about 30 smart transfers to ice3x previously which all worked perfectly. I have proof.
I once made a mistake of doing a smart transfer to altcointrader and there support had to manually credit my account and I assume it should be the same case with ice3x.

Have you phoned them?
Sorry, never used them, I’m just assuming you can phone them like ACT.

There phone system just logs a ticket for you. It's a automated thing. I Twitter them, they just keep responding saying they have backlog of tickets etc etc.

Eish.
Transaction looks fine.
This sucks...hope you get a response soon. Definitely not fun having a chunk of money in limbo like this with no way of getting decent support.

Yes, I have tried Twitter etc, they did acknowledge my problem initially but have basically stopped responding now.
ggrobler on Twitter never responded.

I have sent him an email, but honestly not expecting a reply.

Guess I will give them till the end of this week considering everyone has probably been away for holidays then I will have to seek legal advice.

People are on leave. Allocating this ETH is probably a manual process as they need to make sure that it is not tied to another smart contract. Relax and be glad ETH has been appreciating in value.

Today is day 21 for me without them resolving my issue. If you shout hard enough you get a "Backlog excuse", yet they have opened registrations again and added new services, but they cannot resolve existing tickets.....Without a single doubt in my mind, they have the worst customer service I have ever experienced. This includes Telkom which says alot.
I'm seriously very close to going to the small claims court.

Try sending another support ticket today. I did this morning and got access to my ethereum after more than 2 weeks

Seems like day 21 was the charm. It was resolved today......needless to say AT FCKING LAST, I'm honestly so p1ssed with these guys. 21 days ago when i wanted to cash out to buy Ripple, Ripple was trading at +- R3.20 each, I could have bough 1500 and sold them this weekend at R34 each, I would have made in the region of R47k if they resolved my issues within 2 days of logging the original call.

Hi,

did you get your ETH back? Did the same mistake today and am really worried that my 8 ETH are lost. Surely ice3x should be able to complete the transfer manually as they are holding the private keys to the receiving address, shouldn't they?

Please let me know in case you have some tips, thanks.

Antonius

Where did you send it from?
You have the txid?

It is a common mistake users make that causes problems on many exchanges. It is really important to read instructions and follow directions and warnings about sending ETH. Many exchanges post these warnings for a reason, which is to avoid missing deposits.

It is much better to always send to your own wallet first, and then to the other exchange or ICO. The MetaMask browser wallet for ETH is a good go-between. Send from the exchange to your browser wallet, then to the other exchange or ICO, its quick, easy and secure.

You can read about this issue on ice3x site here: https://ice3x.co.za/sending-and-receiving-ether-to-and-from-icecubed-exchange/
They also have warnings on their website deposit / withdrawal screen.

You might have a problem if you deposit from bitstamp, as they use smart contracts, and send the ETH as an internal transaction. (there are multiple warnings with checkboxes on bitstamp).

This is a common issue, and many exchanges do not accept internal transactions for ETH like ice3x, including Bittrex, Binance, Bitfinex, Coinexchange.io, Coinhako, Coinpayments, Cryptopia, Exodus, Kucoin, Koinex, Ledger, Liqui, SimplexFX , Bithumb and Huobi to name a few.

Try opening a support ticket and see if they can help at: help.ice3.com
