iCloud Keychain SMS Number

Hi Guys

I have read through dozens of posts on the Apple Support Community and posted two questions regarding this issue months apart with 0 response. I decided to try this thread in the hopes that I might find an answer.

I cannot authenticate my iCloud Keychain on IOS 8.2 . I am asked to enter my iCloud Security code which takes me to the next step.(Entering the Key works without a hitch)

This is where I get stuck. The number used to register my iCloud Keychain is of South African origin (+27 (xx) xxxxx50)

Since that time I have moved to my home country of Namibia and my current number is (+264 (81) xxxxx50) The ending '50' is a coincidence.

I have been stuck on this point for close to 10 months now. I have followed every known avenue to seek support to no avail.

I get an option to Select 'Have no Access to this Phone which gives me: 'Verify with Apple Support'

If my iPhone would not constantly ask me to verify my Keychain I would not be so bothered but it can happen during a phone call and cause a real headache.

I need my Identity Verified by Apple Support so I can link up a new Phone Number or restart the entire Keychain setup.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue? I would love to be able to just change the number associated with my iCloud Keychain

A quick search finds this:

I just have same problem, but i found a solution....

On iOS go to Settings > iCloud > Keychain and tap to button to disable iCloud Keychain. (you will be asked to delete or keep passwords on device) i chose delete....

Then enable it again and in pop-up chose Reset iCloud Keychain, on confirmation pop-up chose Reset

In new pop-up Use iPhone Passcode as iCloud Security Code? chose Use Passcode

Enter your passcode (4 digit) and then chose country and your new phone number

And done!

I just changed my number on Iphone 4, 7.1.2

I have done that. Here is what happens:

I move the slider within settings>iCloud>Keychain so as to 'disable' Keychain. After that the slider is in the off position but nothing happens. Going back one step and then back into the Keychain options will show that it has re-enabled itself.

I have tried this numerous times and waited for around 5 to 10 minutes. The illusive "(you will be asked to delete or keep passwords on device)" never appears.

Next to Keychain under Settings>iCLoud it also shows 'Pending'
 
I upgraded to an iPhone 6 recently,so in essence I already did that. I set up the phone from scratch and then signed in with my iCloud account

x2/3 thoughts: Did you 1st set up keychain on a different phone (SA) to your now Namibian phone, if so you may need to go back and properly "de-authorise" that phone...Google as there are a number of issues in this regard...an iMessage issue rings a bell.

Was this SA phone linked to a Mac, as again some complete "de- authorising" may be needed.

Possibly read up on " What must I do before I sell my Mac / iPhone"
