Hello all!

So I have been having these weird ping spikes and was hoping anyone on other or same ISP's were having intermittent ping spikes and of late disconnections at random times. If I am online via gaming or Discord my ping is as low as 150ms which is normal but after a few minutes, it hits 500+ms and then backs down to 150ms. Iconnect techies can't pinpoint the problem and are now stuck in this loop of it's my equipment or it could be something else but never have they been out to my residence to test and see what the hell is going on.

Affected services
Our VoIP phone drops quality for like 5 sec then back to normal
Online streaming Quality drops and then comes right
Online Gaming/VoIP effected also at random times.

The network has had no one apart from me on it and it still drops.

So far the problem has been on the go for 8 months and I know what you're going to say. Move ISP's which I really don't want to do as it is a shlep but if push comes to shove.

The above traceroute was conducted right after the disconnection, as you can see all is quite normal but as soon as I try an international point things get interesting.

As you can see at hop 3 and hope 6 there is a massive ping spike and as soon as it hops away it normalizes. These intermittent ping spikes are what I believe is causing my loss of internet quality.

I performed a local traceroute to your web address, this time hop 3 is normal but hop 6 is still not too lekker. I did another traceroute this time with completely other results.

Anyone have a clue? cause I'm out.

So far Iconnectsa
Friendly Support staff
ISP support bad, I always had to follow up granted I'm not their only customer but I'm still paying for a service.
For a problem that has been going on this long you'd think they'd at least have some sort of clue.

I'd still rate Iconnectsa at 7/10 they're ok but user control panel even though for uncapped is still not finished or built so that is retarded. I have been on countless calls to their support for over an hour and my bill at the end of the month just for support calls was over R300.

So yea, not too keen. Also if you have any suggestions to a better provider I am looking for one.
