Such inconsiderate tossers:mad:

Solution when driving behind them = switch your brights on :D

I only switch mine on (in the absence of actual fog) when inconsiderate drivers come up behind me with their front fogs or high-beams on.

... i think rear fog's should be removed from all golfs... 95% of golfs i see.. have theres on, must be an IQ thing :p

but ya, gees.. i have a rear fog, do i put it on.. no... not unless there is fog.

Not sure how it works with golf's but with some cars the rear fogs are tethered to the front fogs.

Don't attribute to malice that which can be attributed to simple stupidity  ..yes, you definitely get the inconsiderate ones but you ALSO get the new-car-too-stupid-to-know-how-to-use-it brigade (no need to elaborate, we all know the typical profiles). And yes, AMEN to fighting photons with photons - it's the only way to ..err.. make light of the situation! :D

Fair enough, and when the tosser that prompted your reaction is gone, do you turn 'em off afterwards? Also, do you find front fog lights that distracting to you, or are you more doing the protest thing?

I used to do that, as well as when some moron drives too close to me. Nowadays I prefer using less brakes (enough at least not to get too close to the car in front of me), and more gearing to slow down in that case. Sometimes the moron even realizes and will drop back.

Not that I want someone to drive into me, even if it's their fault, but so far they've managed not to. I think it's just a case of most people not being able to judge following distance and speed properly.

I would say ANY use of fog lights (front or back) in good visibility is idiotic.

Yeah - I switch them off - there is even a big glowing lamp on the dash to remind me it is switched on.

Misaligned front fogs distract me.

What about idiots that think parklights are headlights ?? they tick me off! In the upper highway area in KZN, we get lots of rain and mist, and you cant see a parklight for sh$t in those conditions. Or when its dusk ... why not just turn the headlights on ??? Morons !

But, seeing as we have a public vent session going here ..have y'all noticed that, come dusk/low light/misty/light rain (hell, heavy rain!) conditions the Number One culprits for *NOT* using the bloody fog lights their damned vehicles have are the ones wafting around in the expensive German cars - usually the grey ones ..the very same shades of grey that just vanish in those kind of situations!

Its Audi drivers mostly
I drive behind them with brights and move it up and down all the time...
Some of them get really pissed!!!:o

The worst is the Ford drivers, their fogs are way more powerful than German cars and its at the bottom!!! I hate those!!!

BMs too...

I dont stay behind them long always pass and hoot and then flick my fogs on and off....

And now a wry, oh-you're-stupid one: the dumbasses who are too stupid to flick their central mirrors to night-mode and hold their hands up over the mirror that's busy dazzling the hell out of their vision in some kind of protest  *sigh* and these people are not only allowed to drive around, but even to breed ..small wonder there are way too many stupid people around!

tick me off as well

want to built a small pellet gun (or something) into the car, with auto-aim function, and disable the fog lights thus :D

Yep. Or parklights and foglights, but not headlights. They must be retarded.

I wish the cops would actually fine people for driving with parklights or foglights.

Some people are not even aware that its illegal...
WHat about people with raised haedlights, that option is only there if you have a load in your car, but these idiot raise it so they can see faaaar!!!
Its the worst!!

Actually, by the laws of physics; If your boot gets filled the front will 'lift', causing your lights to be higher than normal. So you should actually adjust them downwards with a higher load :)

I usually have mine adjusted in the middle (which is the default setting) and only adjust them higher if travelling at a speed on a dark national road. If someone had theirs set to unusually high in normal conditions, I just flash them, though I don't think they realise what the problem is.

Poor training, "Mr cool" syndrome and never-bothered-to-read-the-manual are the common problems.
