This one is not new and not much exciting...
What's about mass launch of 20Mbps service, eh?
iBurst needs an iBurst Modem & they will probably keep it that way. It's better to buy equipment cash so you don't need to sign a contract.

Nice price. I'll stick with Afrihost, Heard too many bad things about Iburst... to be fair, they were likely wireless related but since they (iBurst) didn't think its a good idea to offer service to East Londoners, I don't think it's a good idea to try them![]()
Un,,, exactly how is this better than afrihost?
Strange that they would use this name for their product where i(I)DSL is another flavour of the DSL range. Other varients are ADSL; VDSL;HDSL etc. Where IDSL is a service offering speeds faster than ISDN but slower than ADSL. OR maybe its just me being toooo technical
I don't think I am in iBurst's coverage area in anycase. Will stick with Afrihost.
Don't you need to get extra equipment and sign a contract to connect to iBurst?. I already have an ADSL router, and didn't need to sign any contracts or purchase any extra equipment when I switched to Afrihost.

Telkom IP Connect pipe
Can someone explain this to me as if I were a child.
Is this product a full ADSL replacement in that it is cable all the way from iburst's national network to the device in my home or is the last mile still wireless?
iBurst is going to be selling ADSL access. ie. The same as you can buy from Webafrica, TelkomSA, Mweb, etc. You will still need a ADSL line from Telkom and then you purchase your ISP account from iBurst. Can someone explain this to me as if I were a child.

Ok, so they are just going to be another ISP. I'll have to pay the Telkom analogue line rental + telkom ADSL line rental + IBurst data usage costs.
In other words business as usual.
I wonder if it would be free to play HON - as its about 100 megs an hour to play... per person!
iGame hosts the HoN server, so yes.
