IE8 delayed until 2009

ah M$...when will you learn. No one even talks about Safari and Netscape and even those browsers make you look pathetic.

]Internet Explorer 8 is expected to be the most standards-compliant browser released by Microsoft to date.
Microsoft doing something according to ISO standards for once? I'll pay to see that
IE8 is also expected to have greatly improved crash protection which will ensure that if one open tab crashes it won't bring down the entire browser.
doubtful, but plausible...
]
The biggest changes in IE8 will likely be around security which will include protection against malicious ActiveX controls.
Okay, now Microsoft is pushing it..but who knows maybe they re-employed all of microsofts staff and got better programmers and might bring out something worthwhile... but I highly doubt that. Firefox is where its at microcramp so just stop pushing down your dog excuse for a browser onto the innocent citizens of the world.

MS had a beta version for download a few weeks back. Not that great IMO. Firefox and Chrome much better. So I'm not holding my breath.

I haven't cared about IE in years....been using firefox since pre 1.0 beta days :)

I would like to see IE8, I think it will be a good release. I won't switch to it, as Maxthon is my favourite, but I did find IE7 nice to use, and it was far better than IE6.

And for corporates, the amount of control with group policy is second to none.

So overall, looking forward to it.

I've worked with the IE8 beta and I must admit, it's better than IE7 and faster, but I still prefer Google Chrome. :D

My arsenal:

Chrome for fast everyday browsing.
Firefox for web development and add-ons.
Explorer to view old and f***ed up sites.

A few weeks back I was googling some css stuff and landed on an MS page talking about the CSS changes in IE8 and the first paragraph went something like this:

"Internet Explorer 8 is the most standards compliant release to date."

On their page they have this "submit your comment" button, so naturally I felt compelled to correct their statement, which went like this:

"Internet Explorer 8 will be the most standards compliant release by Microsoft to date."
