no idea how the iec will justify this, i expect it will go to the high court, perhaps the ConCourt if there is time and it is judged important enough of an issue (which i believe it is).

yes the IEC took the "safe" option
and will wait for the inevitable appeals processes.
of course the ANC would have appealed all the way to heaven/hell if the ruling had been against them
