IEC website crash??

where you voting online?

I guess they still dont think many people will be accessing the site to view results

Anywhere else one can get the results? Seems our company's DSTV account is not up to date. :o

Service unavailable

The 3rd Force has once again made it's prescence felt in South Africa. After releasing cyber mice, to chew through cables the IEC website has now crashed. In a statement to the media a spokesman has explained. "This was a practice run, we are planning to implement this action on the ANC website. Our reasoning is that their "Real Logo" should be available for all to see. Service Unavailable. Nuff said

:D I love amusing myself sorry

No doubt the IEC will explain that this isn't an operational error and that their experts allowed for 2 hits per day, but the number of people trying to access their site far exceeds this number, which is totally unexpected.

Hehehehehe, they need to find a garage and buy some Axxxis prepaid bandwidth.........

I support Helen, but while running out of ballots is a big issue, IMO the IEC is one of our more well organized, corruption free, logistical successes.

Its a huge operation that takes a very long time to plan and the minor hiccups, although serious issues, do not detract from the overall success and quality of our elections.

DA wins Robben Island

Pretoria - The opposition Democratic Alliance won Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was held in prison, in elections on Wednesday, officials said.

The DA, which is headed by Helen Zille, took 52 votes against the ANC's 50 on the island in its first election victory there since apartheid ended in 1994.

The victory of the DA on the former prison island was largely symbolic since it was there that Mandela and many other top ANC leaders were incarcerated during the apartheid years.

The ANC, headed by Jacob Zuma, looks assured of another big win in the election overall, though the party's overwhelming dominance in Parliament could be weakened.

The former prison island in Table Bay a few miles from Cape Town is now a museum and popular tourist attraction, and home to mostly museum employees.

Except it is the most elemental arithmetic failure. One (well, two) ballot per person per registered station. So easy.

Apparently they made certain they printed double the required amount but for some reason the distribution was not great.
