If Mashaba is elected, 'so be it' - Malema

Why the actual **** do you think a politician would be better at running a city than a successful CEO?

You're just terrified that your personal gods are going to be shown to be the corrupt, inept morons that they really are.

One of the big problems with politics today is that the people who are drawn to power are precisely the people you don't want IN power.

Someone with business acumen enough to be CEO of a major company would usually not be interested in a "low paying" political appointment. It's a coup of note IMHO.

Using your logic Donald Trump is going to be the best US president because he runs successful businesses. The notion that just because someone is successful in business then they must be good in every other sphere of life is bogus - this, buy the was, is the same argument that was used to push Mamphela Ramphele down our throats.

Depends how far he gets.
So far, I'd say he's done a lot of good (possibly unintentionally) - he's the one who's broken the ANC's iron fist.

I agree - what he did yesterday took me by surprise. It was a very smart move. He is also playing the long game here it seems, which is something I never expected him to do. I figured he'd try get into power as soon as possible by any means. Yesterday he proved that was not his game. Without his party; the ANC would no doubt have remained above 50% across all metros (Except NMB, possibly) - he was, what SA needed. Radical change. Having said that though; I still don't trust him with any real sort of power.

Donald trump is the kind of person drawn to power. The wrong kind of person. He's actually not really a successful businessman if you dig into it...

And because he's not actually a racist, unlike Malema. His interview on 702 is a bit fear-inducing if you're a white person. He will ship us all off to some island tomorrow if he had the power.

Yep, and sadly, as some have openly said here, is the reason they won't vote DA

I find it sad, because the country could be improved for all, and in turn that helps everybody. I don't understand why it needs to be either or, when it can be all-inclusive. Well, I understand why Malema believes it should be, but I don't understand why he is being so short-sighted.

And regarding affirmative action - no matter how much it is justified by the past, Mashaba is 100% percent correct. It's a perfect example of racism.

Mamphela's downfall wasn't being a business person, it was was trying to a DA candidate and still being with her own party.

Correct. She reneged on a deal, and she negotiated that deal without the approval of her party.

There is no way Mashaba is better than Parks Tau. Mashaba is a political novice.

Mashaba knows this. The DA knows this. Which is why he's got a team of experienced politicians as advisors supporting him. Mashaba is a capitalist - exactly the kind of person our economic hub needs right now.

That was just a symptom of her political immaturity, which is the underlying issue with Mashaba.

Donald Trump is actually a piss poor businessman...

And btw, running a city is pretty much the same as running a large business. I know, its a strange idea but run with it in your head.

I hink we all want things to improve. People differ on how to get things to improve. I personally do not subscribe to DA's neo liberal policies. They will only succeed in entrenching established players and leaving the poor in the peripheries of our society.

So what policies do you subscribe to then? And why do you think they will improve things?

What good businessman does not know how to deliver? How to administer a company?

jees, you're really grasping at straws here.

This job is about PUTTING A MANAGEMENT TEAM IN PLACE to deliver on everything that's needed.

His bank account says otherwise.

Look let us just say time will tell and as a Johannesburg rate payer, I hope I am wrong.

We all hope you're wrong. Only time will tell. Whoknkows, the ANC might have their way for this metro.

You are ignoring some of the difficult questions that have been posed to you.

What policies do you subscribe to if not the DA neo-liberal ones (as you call them), and why do you think the policies you subscribe to will be able to effect change?
