If Mashaba is elected, 'so be it' - Malema

Definitely on the efficiency we agree. But I have noticed a misconception that it's mismanaged.

When pikitup can't make pickups because there are no serviceable trucks
When the only fire engine at the randburg firestation is broken down, so it takes 40 minutes to respond to a fire 1km away
When city power leaves people in the dark 3 days at a time
When joburg water leave suburbs dry for 3 days at a time
When city parks fail to keep parks tidy and safe
When jmpd are a corrupt bunch of speed trap operators who do nothing about blatant by law transgressions
When jra can't fix potholes because of a shortage of tar, and can't keep traffic lights on in the rain
then mismanagement is not a misconception.

Not to mention the sap/billing fukkup

Maybe we should cover the difference between inefficiency and ineffectiveness? I already conceded they are not efficient

Uhm, you do realise that the Johannesburg books'have been "balanced" for a while now? Evidenced by the ratings upgrade by Fitch and Moodys if you don't believe me...

Books showing nkandla upgrades balance too;)

The worst offender was the Nelson Mandela Bay metro with R423 million spent on wasteful and fruitless expenditure.

The City of Johannesburg spent R959 million on unauthorised expenditure‚ R79,6-million on irregular expenditure and R40 000 on fruitless and wasteful expenditure.

And my list shows they're bloody ineffective too.

Don't know why I bothered. I responded to a balance comment that's it.

Ineffective means nothing gets done, inefficient means somethings get done, but not efficiently

You can also do something that's ineffective. Same thing IMO.

EFF will vote for Mashaba, says Malema

Johannesburg - EFF leader Julius Malema says, despite his party's misgivings, it will still vote for DA mayoral candidate Herman Mashaba.

"The DA knows what we think of their mayor. We will still give them the vote because Herman, it's a small thing. We are dealing with big issues here, and the big elephant in the room is the ANC. We are not going to be sidetracked by small differences on Herman," he told Iman Rappetti on Power FM on Thursday morning.

This is an about-turn from just less than 24 hours earlier, when he told journalists at a press conference in Alexandra that the EFF had set the DA a condition before voting with the blue wave in the Johannesburg metro council.

Malema had said that, while the EFF "can't choose for the DA", the DA could choose anyone else from its ranks, "but not a self-hating individual like Herman".

At the time, Malema said Mashaba "wants to be more white than white people themselves".

He said Mashaba said poor people could not handle money. "Poor people are black people," Malema said.

I think they'll be watching each others votes quite closely after the Rustenberg incident
