Ordered from gearbest on 13 March , I ordered 2x + insurance total came to $243 with Aramex door to door.
https://www.gearbest.com/tablet-pcs/pp_602714.html

Customs paid R201
Items arrived on 10 April

So far I updated the firmware to the latest version, was simple process with their tool and latest US firmware that apparently fixes alot of the bugs so took a chance.
Installed Custom Boot loader CWO to try and get Root and make backups etc.
Have not got the Root to work yet although many others have.

Device:
Gearbest gave me one cover for free.
Screen is same as ipad mini, retina.
On first boot the device was on 75% battery and this morning with all fiddling and attempts at root its over 51%.
Device has no bloat at all and boots fast.
Scrolling is also fast.
In and out of apps quickly.
Body is mostly metal and feels sturdy.
Running Android 6.0.1
32gb with 27gb free at the moment.
Only 2gb ram though.

The thing is a fingerprint magnet.

Did notice some light bleed but you really have to look hard.

So far so good, it seems to offer lots of bang for your buck.

Awesome write up and review of the device. On the market for a new tablet so will definitely look at this one. That screens sounds amazing tho...

Day 2 and the kids love the thing, it's faster since I updated the firmware that it came with.
Have not had any issues with the wifi like others have.
Sound on the thing is a bit tinny though but for the price and retina screen, cant be beaten.
Only notice the fingerprints when screen is off.

The tablet without a cover survived it's first drop, my little-list slipped and tablet hit the tiles, heart skipped a beat as it made a loud noise being metal.
No damage what so ever though.

Good specs with circa 2014 hardware, great screen, modern WiFi.
Unfortunately sans cellular&GPS, so it can't be used on the road.
Kids will love it and is also good for general home use.

FNF tablets didn't gain popularity in the past, this one is breaking news somehow. Here is a nice review: https://mynexttablet.com/fnf-ifive-mini-4s-review/

Ordered two today for the kids with covers from GB. Looks like pretty good value.

Just have a nice cloth to regularly clean the device as it's a fingerprint magnet of note.
