To be fair to Webafrica, I don't think they necessarily gave my details over to IS or invaded my privacy per se. I recall reading about similar emails to people on this board before and IIRC what happens is that the Copyright people can trace the infringement as far as the ISP (IS) and then inform them that one of their subscribers have been downloading illegal software. It is then expected from the ISP to pass on the warning to its subscriber/dealer/reseller. Let me quote the exact email:
"Hi **
IS ( Internet solutions ) has informed us that you are downloading Illegal software
Notice of Claimed Infringement
Please note that Illegal software will not be tolerated on the IS network.
If you could please refrain from using BitTorrent again. Reason being that (IS) has your ip address and they will block you as well as black list you.
Please see our Acceptable User Policy below:
