I'm dead slow!

I think it has something to do with the antenna / signal Tsugaru.
Maybe getting the same antenna as me, pointing it at the right place, will help you too... but the best people to do this are probably Kumnandi Technologies.

On the Job Card, I see they do "Durban" as well. ;)

Well I don't have another R800 to waste and who's to say my speeds will increase? I use to get 1+mbps on this tower about 2-3weeks ago..now..*****z speeds. I basically have like a 512kbps line now.

Don't get speeds higher than like 450kbps.

RSSI = Received Signal Strength Indication

This means our signal is good but it also means that good signal doesn't necessarily contribute to our line speed (agent also mentioned this in a previous post), so then WTF do we need to do to get this thing working. I also don't have cash to purchase another antenna.

All I can say is, imagine if they had the total amount of people they wanted when they first started (I think it was 200 000), what would our speeds have been then?

Does your atenna also only connect to one tower? Mine stays fixed to 432 but second I put the Neotel Antenna back on I get 264 which is the one I WANT to be on always.

Are you under a contract with Neotel?
Demand they pay for it - that's what I did.
But I had to get a technician out first to confirm it was a signal related issue.

Look, these Yagi antenna are directional antenna's, they will connect to the tower they are pointing to. Mine stays connected to 452 but that where I've pointed it to.

You first need to find out if those two PN's are on the same tower or on different towers (each tower has 3 cells each with a different PN), then you need to point your antenna in the desired direction, but it's not gonna make a difference.

I think the Yagi doesn't work too well with Neotel because with my normal antenna I connect to the same PN but I get better speeds.

People, the towers are congested and that's the reason for the poor download/upload speeds. A good or excellent signal won't make a difference until Neotel fix their almost inutile network. An antenna will probably improve your signal but an improvement in speed is unlikely.

Morning all!

I woke up this morning to my device having 0 signal and doing 10KB/s.

I was like... WTF!!!

So I turned the device off, turned it back on and now it's back to normal.

Hope I'm not going to have to BABY SIT this bloody thing!

Saw people wearing neotel shirts in bellville this morning giving out flyers, looks like the towers are gonna become more congested now.......

Hi all,

Found out my 'device' might be faulty.

Anyways, Reon from Kumnandi Technologies has spoken to the people and they will be coming to replace the device at some point.

@gdiza - how do they check whether or not your device may be faulty? do they check on site or do they have to send it away? Thanks

@DarkDenim

Tsugaru and I are both experiencing better speeds with our default antenna and this has nothing to do with congestion.

People people, if you're sick and tired of the call-centre's... go to the head office.

I went there Friday, explained my situation, that I've being waiting for 2 weeks for a trouble ticket to get resolved... A part of my problem was sorted out that same day. But now if only my device worked.pfffffffffff

What do you mean? If only my device worked. ????

got new device but interestingly this is very slow compared to old one now not getting what to do
speed is below 15kbps

Logged a call again this morning. Apparently my previous call was sent to the "Complaints" department and not "technical" and it's been sitting there since 7th of June :/
Also checked before i called the neotel coverage map and it shows now my area to be outside their coverage! WTF! In December when I signed up i had perfect Prime coverage....now it's simply gone?

Well they said they will try to send a technician up to the tower to see whats up.......wonder how long thats gonna take :(
