I'm dead slow!

Well, tonight, I'm back to doing between 10KB/s and 20KB/s... it's peaking at 20KB/s but averaging at 13KB/s.

Gotta love Neotel I tell ya.

is your RSSI still at 68? are you still connection to the same PN? If these are still the same we can assume your signal quality is poor or station problems e.g overloaded, capped

Maybe someone could confirm but i don't think overloaded stations are at fault because if it were a case of overloading you would have this poor performance all the time (user activity is normally similar) we wouldn't have this big difference in speeds that are so random. What if Neotel were forcing slower speeds at their convenience?

I was gonna suggest the bad weather in CPT might be the cause but I'm getting a line speed of 600kbps
 
I'm back to rubbish speeds again tonight. From 2.5mbps to under 400kbps.

I will lose my f^%$ing cool if they've taken my coverage away again.
 
Maybe it can be the weather, i just did some speed test and got the following.

600, 350, 580, 262, 391, 533, 808, 620

These test we done one after the other. Lets see what happens if I download something...
 
The weather in CPT is not exactly BAD - it's not like it's storming as hell or something, it's not even raining... 10KB/s! this is horrible and I have a freaking antenna!!!!!!

As at 10:41pm and yet, I'm getting 10KB/s average! :mad:

No, the Neotel technician Willem, under orders from Neotel rep was told to come out to my place to 'experience' the problem himself.

Considering the problem is intermitent, it's pointless for him coming and sitting in my room for hours waiting for the problem to happen.

It has happened 3 times since I first reported it, but it's completely random when it does happen.
 
well if thats what they want ... let the dude chill there till it happens ... tell him to bring his own coolerbag and chow. And a pc for lanning while you wait.

I'm not such a chop... ;)

I'll just make notes of when it happens and keep a record of it and pass it onto Neotel (Willem) etc... and if they help, they help, if it gets worse, I'll make a noise.
 
Update:

Things are looking up a tad. I've been holding at a stable 60kB/s (480kb/s) for the last 2 days now. This is acceptable, but not great. At least I can use it again.

Cant wait till I get back to 220kB/s again :D (2-3months according to rep)
 
i wonder what happened to the previous rep? apparently we have a new one now?

Some mediocre news - i disconnected my yagi as i got tired of seeing that mamoth thing in my bedroom (cant mount it outside due to restriction on my complex) and to my pleasant suprise it stayed connected! and it had excellent connection! However speed and ping dropped considerably. I was dloading at about 50KB/s whereas with my Yagi i was getting 150KB/s.
