I was at a stage where, from here on end, I wouldn't have mind who won ... even if it is not South Africa ... as long as it was not Australia.

And low and behold ... it ain't them!!!!!!!!!!

Those Aussie bastards have lost and more satisfactory ... Ponting (saying ********) to everyone) is at the end of his career. I wish him a prosperous retirement, but I wish he would get the hell out of my sight.

EDIT: This was a complex use of concord. I don't think I got it right. Please correct me.

It wasn't to be for the Aussies. They'll be giving it their best next time.

Was kinda hoping they would win... only so we can face them in the final and beat them! Victory would be much sweeter if it's Oz we win in the final...

Just wanted India to win because they are the hosts, who wants empty stadiums?

Great to know Austria is out of the cup! :)

Who actually likes Australians (except Australians) with their "my **** doesn't stink" attitude.

Glad they got beaten well. Maybe now the conceited bunch can learn a little humility.

He's actually the most decent guy in the team. Win or lose, he's always the 1st one to go and shake the oppositions hand.

+1

For some reason I also disliked him at first, but turns out to be a very decent guy. Cant remember the detail but saw an interview with him couple of years ago and was very impressed.

But that Ponting, urgh...

Well its fitting that the teams that beat the defending champions take the cup.
Pakis or India I don't mind :D

Every Saffer hates the Aussies...until they migrate there and say "ah well, may as well ...'...but we are still Saffers at heart.

The Aussies didn't choke, they just never were in the game. Despite your dislike of punter, and misinformation about characters of Lee et al, these two blokes stood up to be counted when it mattered, but there is nothing you can do if you are given knives to a gun fight. That is not Ponting's fault.

As for walking/not walking...you seem to forget that when Ponting suggested a 'fair play' code of accepting the fielders' word, you guys said "play to the umpire's decision"...now you want him to walk when the umpire gives him not out..how much more hypocritic can you get?
Sp play to the umpire's decision and use the UDRS ...that's what it is there for.

Agreed... but the UDRS does not replace fair play, it is suposed to be in addition to it. What Pointing et al are now doing (have been doing?) is to try and cheat first, and then see if the review catches them out.

And, Lee is an awesome bloke. Ozzie or not. But that Johnson? I mean its probably okay if you give the batsmen dirty looks every now and again, but does he have to do it every time he bowls? Geez he's like the local schoolyard bully! Why not try to just smile at the batsmen and that way acknowledge a good stroke, instead of trying to stare him down? Andre Nel was another culprit. Yeah yeah I know, try to phychologically beat them too, and all that.
