Hi Guys,

Recently moved over from Android to iOS, I have been struggling to activate iMessage and Facetime using my mobile number on MTN. My iCloud address is activated and ticked, I have read through all the available threads on MyBB as well as online. The steps tried below
  • Enable international SMS's
  • Load airtime ( Topup Contract )
  • Test sending international SMS's manually - works
  • Contact apple support
  • Reset the phone
Amongst a range of other possible fixes with still no luck. I am hoping.

Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated

What worked for me is I purchased R5 airtime from a shop and loaded it and than activated iMessage and FaceTime.
My SMS budles did not work and also purchasing a top up via the app did not work.

I used the FNB app to purchase airtime, and still no luck

Make sure iMessage and FaceTime are switched off before recharging and restart your phone after switching them on?
Maybe try buying airtime and use the voucher code and recharge. This is what worked for me.

Thanks will try this and revert

I have resorted to doing a sim swap, will keep this thread updated

Finally got it working

Steps that were taken below

  • Load Airtime
  • Enable international calling via 135 or in-store
  • A step that worked for me (SimSwap) this may not be needed for everyone
