I must say you have it all figured out, don't you? Except I know it's not greener, I'm most definitely leaving for selfish reasons. I have no spite toward SA, I'm actually sad to be leaving, sad that I've been put in this most difficult situation. Hopefully this country comes right one day and I can come back, until then I have to make the hard decisions about what's best for my family. Much like my coal miner ancestors did when they arrived on this dusty continent.

Stayers mostly recognise the difficulty and are committing to helping the country come right, they don't just expect it to happen so they can magically be satisfied according to a histrionic perception of the circumstances.
See the difference? Probably not.
