Immigrating to New Zealand.

Hey, just checked out the NZ points system and see I qualify in 6 mths time :)

I know we can walk into Canada with just my wifes skills - but then I cannot work :(

Life is what you make of it. If you are so bored then you must commit suicide as that is just because of your own doing.

The opposite is true here, your life is purely regulated what others do, "The Government and the criminals" (hey thats actually a suitable movie title there)

exactly what i thought! only reason for someone to 'change' her mind that drastically and say everything is still the same though.
 
Life is what you make of it.

Auckland was voted the fourth best city in the world for quality of life, and being the biggest city has the most facilities. (It's supposed to have more cafes & restaurants than Sydney.)

For young people the city is the place to live, there are lot of inner city apartments, and of course a lot of activities. All the major music acts come to Auckland (Except for Fleetwood Mac who went to New Plymouth.)

Couples with kids tend toward the suburbs and there are large South African communities on the North Shore and around Howick. (don't think you can speak Afrikaans with impunity)

The worst thing about New Zealand the news, it's boring, and exciting stories tend to get milked for a week's worth of coverage.

One of the best things about NZ is being able to occasionally listen to an eloquent and coherent Prime Minister on talk radio, knowing that he's a self made millionaire, and there are no Shabir Shaiks in attendance.

Another is packing a cooler bag and walking down to the beach to have supper without being harassed

Try spending a week in Pofadder :D Worse week of my life.

I guess the lack of excitement is one of the reasons why NZ is the last outpost. Just remember that more than half of young adults in NZ (20-30) do not live in NZ but choose to rather work in OZ and the UK ... hang on that sounds like SA
 
Is she on a British Passport?? She can go on there without even getting a Visa and can get work straight away

Are you sure it's really that simple?

Personally I doubt I could ever raise my kids in New Zealand or in Australia.
