Our daughter went to visit friends in New Zealand over the December period and when she returned to our surprise she had decided she wants to go and stay and work there.

Her best friends husband will be her sponsor and she plans on staying with them until she is sorted. At the moment she is looking for information on jobs over there and is thinking in the line of the teaching profession but not 100% sure.

Over here she still has a 1 year lease on the flat where she is staying and a car that needs to be paid off but i am sure we can work something out regarding these two issues.

Has anyone looked into the issue of immigrating to New Zealand and or know someone who has done this move?

Any information is appreciated.

thanks.

It should be emigrating, not immigrating.
Then your daughter will be a good teacher

Easy:

Emigrating = 'exit' since it starts with an 'e'

Immigrating = 'in [to a country]' since it starts with an 'i'

So we talk about immigrants [since they've come IN to a country] causing a lot of stress in the UK but about South African emigres (don't know how to put that accent on the second 'e') living in the UK.

mY bROTHER IN LAW DID THE SAME. hE NEVER LOOKED BACK. (dAMN cAPS)

He does not even want to come back to SA for a visit. He's two sons who are still here. Life in general, safety, Health and middle class "life" increased by 1000%

Help her to do the right thing!

All she needs to do is pack up, visit them again, while there get a Job and apply for a work permit there. Then she is on the way to civilization as it should be!

she was in Auckland and says the everything was just like here and she is so set in her ways and said she would never ever leave south africa and here she comes back and straight away says she wants to move there now. we were taken aback by this but if she wants to do it then we will help her.

Isn't it rather rainy there? Not to mention that the ratio of sheep to people is something like 20:1 :p

But obviously, overall, NZ will have a better quality of life than SA.

Its just that sense of security, that liaise "feel" that you get accustomed to after a while there, then when you return you are shocked back to reality.

Their broadband as almost as awful as ours, but that seems to be the worst aspect I could find. Life is calmer and the natural beauty is like, "Lord of the Rings" :D

I wouldn't mind having the freedom to drop everything here and relocate

i had the same feeling when i was in Fort Lauderdale and experiencing life there and coming back here to a totally different place.

She found a bf. Tell her to convince him to marry her.

Agree, she again even get to see Jurie Else perform in the Auckland malls like he use to in Pretoria (back in the 90's) :D
