Yoh. It's been nearly 4 years since I started this thread and if not for covid I would probably have been there already.

Actually feeling despondent and just want to pack up and leave this place.
Have you made it happen yet? Looking at your post history in this thread; you went pretty far down the rabbit hole of sorting it out.

Damn, just been reminded of the other thing I hate about summer in the UK: flies. And not just little annoying ones, but “brommers”: big, fat, lazy ****ers that don’t so much fly as just float around. It’s surprising coming from Africa to see so many.

Yeah some days they're a damn handful the brommers.

Been here 4 years next month and I'm still taken aback by how many cars are parked with windows open coz of the heat ... seeing as the yearly average for car theft where I am is like 3 a year, I guess its not a big deal.

So as mentioned; we’re in the UK for three weeks from the 7th.

I need to travel to London twice during our stay there and will need to make use of the underground.

Will be traveling from East Sussex side. What’s the cheapest way to do this by train?

Railcard gives you savings but the sign up fee only really makes it worthwhile if you are using it regularly.
Trainline app for checking pricing, outside peak is obviously substantially cheaper.
Citymapper app is nice to have for traveling around London and choosing transport.
