Immigrating to the UK

Seconded trainline . They will sell you a return ticket to London with a travel card for all London transport for a day for a reasonable price.

Railcard gives you savings but the sign up fee only really makes it worthwhile if you are using it regularly.
Trainline app for checking pricing, outside peak is obviously substantially cheaper.
Citymapper app is nice to have for traveling around London and choosing transport.
Thanks. I’ll use both apps.

First visit to London is not for tourism - but the second trip is and is, the SO and I are planning spending the day / night in London. Need to check hotel pricing.

Good luck and enjoy!

On that note, I think a visit to the big city is overdue.

I see the trip is £43 and includes unlimited travel on the underground and bus. That seems reasonable actually.

The plan is (expensive)

Go up in the morning and do more sightseeing (been to London a few times) to places we have not seen yet.

Then have dinner at The Shard and see the Lion king show that my wife has been going on about for years.

Then stay over at a hotel and get the train back to the East in the morning.

It is good. I’m paying roughly that for return with the Railcard and am about 6 stations out.

A date night in London absolutely sucks the £ but it's such an experience. Hope you and the missus (and the credit card, lol) have a good one

That show is seriously goose bumps worthy. Good call.

Sounds epic!

Something I've noticed being back in SA. All the coca cola products taste a lot more watery.
Cost cutting/shrinkflation using less syrup?

Less sugar due to sugar tax. I assume, have not had Coke in 12 years.

Nope. Just getting older and closer to dying.
Ah! Thinking outside the box, in this case the long wooden one.

Also to consider then...

Effects of "long Covid" on the taste buds or
After effects of the vaccine.
Take your pick.
