Immigrating to the UK

It is, yeah. Which is why we are looking at a detached property with a garden. And yes that means higher rent for now until we can buy our own place. So be it.

Father in law knows someone in the property game and they will have a place up for rent next August that suits us perfectly and he is okay with animals. So we will figure something out.

Yes, through a lawyer, but regretted it. Spent more time correcting their errors, had to do all the work anyway. But I'm used to visa applying, so had everything prepared and preplanned

When I was applying for my sons Certificate of entitlement- lawyers I contacted wanted R8k for the application. (uk gov charges R9k) and they gave me incorrect info - decided to do it on my own and it was fine.

I think I’ll spend the next few months gathering what I need for the application next year and do it on my own.

We used Move A Pet to Aus. They were one of the cheaper ones and inspired a lot of confidence. While giving a quote they spotted mistakes in our paperwork that another company who we were going to use, missed.

Rent is going to be tough depending on sizes of dogs. Just my experience, but a lot of places dont like big dogs, and in large quantities. The rental market is really competitive, more so in some places

Sorry, just read you know someone with a place. Try get a long term lease, as above, I think you will struggle with that many pets in most places

A blanket policy of "NO PETS" looks to be going away soon, the govt intend to outlaw it, the act is going through parliament now.

Yeah I am hoping this helps us in the next year - but maybe it will be too soon. Either way, I think we will manage with all the pets. A lot of people I have spoken to whilst I was in the UK this month seem to think as long as you're not in town and in areas with more space; pets isn't really an issue.

Someone also mentioned using private landlord vs estate agent - whatever that means. I am just looking on rental sites for now.

I am not sure this will make a difference. Properties easily get 20 or 30 requests, they can simply ignore the ones with pets.

Yup the landlords get to pick and choose their tenant.
