Immigrating to the UK

I had to google that. I only drink superior rooibos anyway :coffee:

I arrived this morning for a few days. I always take home Double Decker choccy bars, Jaffa Cakes and Walkers prawn cocktail crisps.

Those are all good options! My wife loves Walkers so I'll definitely get some in the bag

I've only got one three-pack of Jaffa cakes left :o

LOL. Well I have seen some places here call it red bush...
Reminds me of a girl I dated in college... also caffeine free

Flying back to SA this weekend, was wondering what cheap gifts I can take to my friends, and the only idea I came up with is to buy them some Terry's Chocolate Orange. That stuff is amazing
Almost on the same flight as you. Flying back next week. Loaded up with mars and yorkies chocolates and tea.

Not looking forward to the 30+ weather.

First task is to get up kak early and go stand in line at DHA for a passport

I took a second suitcase back full of Yorkshire tea last year.

Officially accepted an offer today with previous employer.

Since there are delays with the Home Office and issuing of CoS - they’re putting me on a SA contract first as I need to be in Dubai in April for 4 weeks first. However it’s in writing in the offer they made that as soon as the UK issues the CoS they will apply for the visa and switch me to a UK contract.

Been hearing about the delays. Some waiting weeks to months for CoS. They’ve requested a few and said will let me know as soon as it comes through.

Sounds like they’re offering to pay for the visa too as long as I commit to them for three years. Unsure how I feel about that. Saves about R100k now but means I can’t easily move to another company. But not an issue if I decide I want to leave I’ll just pay for the visa.

Congratulations! That sounds like a good deal anyway and three years go by in a flash.

Congrats! That’s pretty standard I think, same with mine but 2 instead of 3 years.

You should really have made an appointment first via https://services.dha.gov.za
You have to be there really early these days to be allowed in as one of the first people.
After 9, they mostly just accept those with appointments scheduled.
