They do an international account for non-residents via the Channel Islands iirc.

No issues at all, I was expecting some but the only issue they had was that my son had a very old broken lighter in his bag (heirloom, belonged to my wife's grandfather) and they just verified it was broken and done.
They even got a photo in the cockpit and my son got one with the pilot.

I reckon they’d at least be bothered to learn to speak the language properly. You know, unlike certain pockets of the UK where people have been here for over 30 years and still can’t speak it at all.

A level English is going to be beyond a lot of clutches…
Problem is they often came in as dependents in the past, that is how they have zero English, I think.

Test is fairly easy. Read through the book a few times and passed with no issues. Get the official book though - all the questions come from it.

I see there's some changes coming very soon to try to curb net migration.
One measure is that skilled work visas will require a degree. They also want to stop recruiting care workers overseas.

Thing is, the government ****ed up when they handed the CoS process over to businesses. It obviously attracted all the scammers trying to make a quick buck, selling visas to people with no other way of getting here, only for them to pay their money, land here, and then find they have no job because it never existed - often the place they were meant to be working for didn’t even exist. This happens especially frequently in the care industry because of the extremely low bar of entry.
So, like always, some scummy ****ers ruined it for everyone else. Getting caught should come with a hefty jail sentence imho.

And the unemployment figure is interesting because there are a LOT of people looking for work. I think as well this is part of the government’s drive to get people who are milking the benefits system back to work.
