So I signed up for Dragon Age 2 pretty much the instant pre-orders opened, then forgot about it. Now we're in release week and I'm beginning to get supremely excited.

Can it be Friday now puleeeeeeeze?

So you didn't play the demo?

And you're expecting it to be anything like Dragon Age: Origins, perhaps?

Hehe, prepare to be disappointed.

Oh hell I hope its NOTHING like the previous 1 and a half.

I'm hoping for a mass effect 2 similarity. :D

Oh, then you'll love it. It is indeed a dating/boinking sim with lots of button mashing, and almost none of that pesky "role-playing", "planning" or "deep and rewarding" nonsense. Oh, and it's shorter too so that's great. I'm so sick and tired of getting too much game for my money.

ME2 did at least have great graphics, Dragon Age 2 doesn't even have that... Just yesterday there was a thread here saying how you only get "console textures" in the beginning and have to download the better ones later, when they become available.

I'm waiting impatiently too! I ordered mine from Take 2 though, and have a feeling I'll only get it on Monday :(

actually, they released a High resolution pack for pc gamers- today.

I got my xbox copy yesterday. Thanks BT! And I must say, although the reviews made me a bit hesitant, and the changes are quite big, I like it!

Definitely needs to be played with a controller though, imo.

+1

Watched a variety of reviews across the web about DA2... PC = more strategic, Xbox = more action focused

I still don't know which platform to get :erm:

My understanding is that the pc version has a different camera angle too, and that its not better for it. But that's open to correction.

@ work. Counting minutes. Hawke needs my help!!!!

And no, the fiance fails to see the humour in this...

Seems pretty cool so far - anyone have any good party combinations to share? I'm thinking typical setup, tank(me), mage dps, rogue dps and a mage healer/off-dps.

Apparently with the Black Emporium DLC you can buy potions to re-spec your characters, but I've googled around and can't find out where the Emporium is, anyone know?

The Black Emporium shows up as a location on the map when you leave an area. At least, that's what it did for me.

You need to return to your personal home once its installed and check your messages, there'll be an invite to the Black Emporium.
Then its accesible on your map.

Its awesome, I respecced last night, tonight I plan on re speccing my party.

EDIT: if you have an account on the social.bioware site linked to your game, send me your user name and I'll add you as a friend.
