Implats workers want to double wages

I listened to an interview with one of the striking Gold Fields workers yesterday, he says there is not relation between the R12,500 they are demanding and the Lonmin one. Then goes on to say that they don't trust union leaders because they are just trying to further their own political interests, but the workers trust JM. I'm surprised the interviewer didn't ask the guy whose interest they think Malema is looking after.

Yeah! Who needs pesky things like basic human rights. Pfff... thats all liberal hogwash meant to negatively impact the economy. Viva No unions! Viva unaccountable government corporal punishment!

So tell me, you like our little country where criminals have more rights than victims? We're doing something wrong - and institutionalised criminal behaviour by the unions isn't exactly heaven on earth now is it?

Lol at that. Where does a criminal have more rights than a non-criminal? lol. I must have missed that bit of our constitution. I hope you are not just repeating hysterical white right wing propaganda and have laws or are able to show a part of our constitution that can back up your words.

Neither is the poverty and inequality ;)

So why all the sympathy for the illegally striking violent miners when they get shot? Have you seen pics of what these savages did to the security guards on site?

Dragging everyone down to the same level is preferable to uplifting? These demands will end the gold/platinum industry in SA - and then where will we be?

You do know this topic is not about Lomnin strikers right?

No, that would be a retarded right wing way of thinking. We dont want everyone on the same level, we are trying to lift more people into the middle class with better salaries. This economics 101.

All related.

Economics 101 talks about supply and demand. The supply of labour far exceeds demand - so please explain increasing prices in terms of economics? I think you'll find that it's artificially increasing pricing, which creates a glut of labour with not enough employment.

All related.
The only way they are related is that they are both in the same industry wanting better pay. Erm... just wow.

Wow... just wow. Do you know France has record unemployment and was paying off two world wars when it started with its welfare plan of growing the middle class? Do you know Sweden was having food riots and huge unemployment when they started fixing the financial inequality? You do know Germany was completely decimated by WW2 when they decided to fix their inequality? Do you even read history?

Not everything is about profits. Sometimes people count as well.

You said it was economics 101. Now it's history 101? Make up your mind.
Do you even read your previous posts?

For the record, I am studying economics 1 this year, so I do actually know what I'm talking about, at an economics 101 level.

I did, which is why I laughed at them. Including your current one. lol.

Wow, and they didnt cover the welfare state or its mechanics? Amazing you are not studying the most successful financial model that most of the successful countries have deployed.

Wow, was just reading that Australian miners get 1500-2500 Aussie dollars per week

Another figure I found for what australian miners earn is: 84,000.00 AUD = 711,211.43 ZAR per year. Hectic!

By the looks of things, we can afford to pay those miners a little more, and at the same time bring more people into the middle class, which in turn would lead to a more stable and safe country.

Im changing jobs and moving countries! jk

Wow. Surely you've realised that you are doing the most basic descriptor of economics to give you a basic understanding and that the theory doesn't always apply to reality? You are busy with 1 + 1 and what Ghoti is talking about is algebra in comparison.. Come back once you've done at least 3rd year economics.

Ghoti said it's economics 101. Which is first year. So I was rebutting AT THAT LEVEL. Too hard for you to fathom?
