I had to format and re-install XP on someones computer. They previously had Office installed and used Outlook as their mail client. They however cannot find their Office cd (or the XP one as they had to order a replacement from the laptop manufacturer) and I'm not gonna pirate office on their behalf.

I made a backup of their entire hd and restored all the email folders to their correct location. Windows Live Mail however does not provide me with an option to import from Outlook and I suspect it's because Outlook is not installed but I could be wrong. Outlook Express does not find anything either.

Any ideas on a painless way to get their mail back into Windows Live Mail?

Would Outlook 2010 Beta work with older Outlook mail folders. Wondering if I could just download the Outlook client separately?

Ignore this thread (for now).

I managed to find all the Office 2003 CAB files and installer in a cache directory of the users system I backed up but still no license key :(

A bit of googling and I discovered Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder v2.0.1 which I pointed to the registry hive of the users old system which I backed up onto and external drive and it recovered license keys for most of the products installed including Office 2003.

Busy installing Office 2003 now and things are looking up, will have to reward myself with a beer later if this all pans out well :D

Warning: Your antivirus will biatch about keyfinder but I promise you the file is safe ;)
