Imposter ICASA inspector intercepted

The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa (ICASA) today welcomed the arrest of a Pakistani man for allegedly impersonating an ICASA inspector at China City Mall last week.

He actually did more work than Icasa! Shocking! lol:D

What tipped them off - was he working a little too hard?

Probably it was the first time the China City Mall guys heard of ICASA hence they called the cops.

It is alleged that the 37 year old Ahmed Abduliah was in possession of the radio equipment type approval application forms and was checking whether cellular phones were type approved.

“It should be noted that the fraud case was opened by the three shop owners and ICASA will engage with the police to have this man charged further in terms of the ICASA Act,” the telecoms regulator said in a press statement.

And who will be charged with selling the "radio equipment type approval application forms" to the imposter? (hint to the police, fingerprint the backside of the last form to see which ICASA employee had them in their possession)

They should arrest the entire staff of ICASA for trying to impersonate people who care.

Yep, this is certainly the million dollar question: When will the police charge ICASA for impersonating a regulator?
