Hi all

I'm a new memeber to this forum and I would like to know if anyone has some tips for me on how to improve my network speed. I'm using a Cell C MF 190 USB speed stick and I'm in a 3G zone but my network speed is often very slow and at certain times (6pm to 10pm) I've got zero network. Is there something I could do? I will really appreciate all the help I can get coz my poor network is hampering my Master's research and I am not getting any assistance from Cell C.

Kind regards

Are you on contract with HellC, sorry meant CellC? If not then i suggest you try other service providers , like with Telkom Mobile if you have coverage their speeds are pretty descent. If push comes to shove you can try get a 3G router that has an internal sim card slot and preferably one that supports external antennas. USB powered modems sometimes do no perform as well as 3G routers

Hi kianm
I'm on a prepaid contract/special deal for Unisa students. Maybe that explains it...once they've got your money they forget about you :(

And yes I have tried rebooting, I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling my Cell C software and even took the drastic step of formatting my hard drive and reinstalling the OS and all software.

People must do research before they are binded to a contract.
