Incredible's Connection Packages feedback..

I just canceled my Incredible Connection ADSL due to bad service from a company part of the JD group of companies(And I let the CEO of JD group of companies know of that fact as well). Bought a car through one of their companies (Unitrans Motors) well over a month ago. I am still waiting for registration papers and licence disk. Sales person never returns calls and only makes promises to look into it.

Yeah. I'm guessing the registration papers and license disk didn't come to you because of a bad internet connection somewhere. Right? RIGHT???

Nothing to do with the internet connection (they are anyway a reseller of IS so no problem getting another IS reseller), To be honest in SA their is not a lot of choice as everything has to go through Telkom in one way or another regarding ADSL. It is still the consumers choice where to spent their money in the end. I just feel if a company is part of bigger group of companies why should I support or do business with another part of that group of companies if some other company in that group is giving me no service at all (in the end the profits go to the same group of shareholders/ceo's. ) Companies should start looking after their customers, because not doing so might affect them directly or indirectly as in this case. In this case i decided to not do business or recommend Unitrans anymore which I quickly found out belongs to JD group. Incredible Corruption is part of the JD group so punishing them will give me instant gratification and will hurt the JD group. (I might not buy a car for the next 2-3 years so I can't really boycott them that way)

Same. HTTP downloads during the day were not going above 15KB/s.

Is there a rep on this forum? If this continues, I'll happily go back to Webafrica. Same shaping policies (11-6 and rolling windows) but they gave much better speeds at 4 stars.

Hmmm ... a tad irritatingly slowish my side as well.

I am on 3 stars, Total usage: 13.48 GB.

So full of promise this account initially.

For the money it can be slow during business hours. I need it to fly after 17:00 and it does, unlike other packages in this price segment.

LOL ... I was experiencing the opposite (and need it to be thus) until this week, when it began its slide into Matrix bullet-style responsiveness.

I guess as a cheap backup account it will do. I have been topping up my WebAfrica account, I would not have been able to use this Connection one exclusively.

Less than 15GB this month and on 3 stars... THIS is the most disappointing thing about this account, even at R99.

I've used 29768.31 MB this month, currently on 4 stars.... But also feeling the slow speed.

Something tells me there aren't clearly defined limits/rules for the Usage vs stars vs performance thing.

"Only switched to my IC on the 11 th of this month as I was testing WA promo :)"

30 gb so far and on 3 stars. Netflix streams 480p 2mb line ( Most of the time including the day ). Wifey also haven't complained about browsing during the day ( while im working ! ) since I've moved from OW so cant complain yet. There is also not really any other competition @ R99.00 now for what you get.

I use the account primarily between 17:00 and 8am and it flies until 8am but then I switch onto the WA capped account. Still a better experience than getting a fully fledged uncapped account from the major ISP's.

I believe high usage during peak periods the star ratings would get affected more based on usage.

To all the folks complaining about slow daytime speed:

I think it's fair to say that these "home" accounts are just that, meant to perform when you're home, ie: after 5pm, and not for downloading during the day, bearing in mind shaping is dynamic, so comparing this to WA or something is mute, as the dynamic of the network is not constant.

If you work from home, I suggest you take up their offer for the 20GB capped @ R50 and use that during the day.

P.S.

I'm not a rep, just your average Joe public :)

20GB capped for R50 ... that is half the price that I am currently paying for WebAfrica 15GBs.

Excuse the noob here, but these Connection R50 capped accounts, are they also star rated etc, or unshaped 24/7 because they are capped offerings?
What is their catch?

No catch, it's unshaped.

It is a special launch price like the 2mb R99 deal AFAIK.

Even tho I probably won't use it, I got myself one of those 20GB deals, as it's a limited offer, and who knows when I'll need some unshapedness :)

PM me if you want to try it out as I'm not using it now :)
