Infamous latency issues

Please refer to my original question. I asked "I havent looked into using lowerping. Can it be used in conjunction with Ventrilo?"

Would it have been so hard for you to have said what you just posted? "you tunnel the port of wow into the lower ping account, and vent go's out the normal route."

Ok so after all that is there anyway apart from using gamemax that you can lower our latency at all or we stuck with 100ms more than normal? I still think its my game server thats the problem to be honest but dont really know

Thats what I'm scared of. I get a Gamemax account and it stays the same cause the server is buggered :S

hmmm...should ask my friend actually...he plays on the same server

Whats your latt at the moment with Gamermax?

I generally find higher latency after patches. And the last patch was no different *shudders at the thought of the upcoming Ulduar patch*.

I don't have Gamemax. Want to get it if it will improve latencies, but 2 friends now confirmed a 100ms (+-) increase in latency and they are all on different connections. Me (ADSL), friend 1 (iburst) and friend 2 (3G)

Guess it has to be the server

Back in January my latt was a stable 280ms, logged on last night after re-subbing and it didnt drop below 450

and i'm on a 4mb unshaped line

My unshaped gives me 450-500 and shaped gives me 650-700ms

I have found at exactly the same time a latency increase of 100ms I am on the Stormrage EU server and have a 4mbps unshaped line used to get 250ms - 350ms never more now its between 350-400ms which suxs lol if u pay so much money and for what. Dont know if Lower ping might help but whatu guys think? When I do a tracert its like 203ms

I believe lowerping.com has a free trial setup (DC's you every 30 mins or so). Can't hurt to have a look. Doesn't work for everyone, though... some guys in my guild call it slowerping

Gamemax shaves approx 100ms off my connection - using Screamer WiMAX and Gamemax I get approx 250ms latency.

He connects to US servers.
While I surf, and he's playing - 700ms(+-).

This is on a 384 DSL connection.

ok, so that probably means, that its not worth it, buying a Semi-Shaped account just to have Better Latency?
