Infinity Fibre

Going to add to this.

I reported lag spikes on 4 November 2016. Every 11 odd seconds I get a lag spike of 600ms which then drops back to normal within about a second.

Their support could not be reached since outside of business hours, and I eventually called XDSL's support who looked at the issue. I sent them screenshots of the netgraph in Overwatch showing the spikes, as well as video's of the actual spikes in-game. About a week later, after doing my OWN investigations (using pingplotter) I sent them screenshots that the issue lies with one of their servers, even goping so far as providing them with the IP of the hop causing the spikes.

I hear absolutely nothing for 2 weeks, with the issue persisting. They did however ask Telkom to inspect my line (without informing me - I just get a call from a guy saying he is from Telkom to inspect my line. I told him to get lost since I did not hear from my ISP...they would tell me right? RIGHT??)

We are now on almost 4 weeks - and all I have to go on is the following dated 22 November:

Hi XXX

We are currently experiencing spikes on our home connections. The issue is currently being dealt with by the network engineers who are currently working to resolve it.
They did make changes last week which result it the problem lessening but not yet resolved. They are currently try to workout what the cause of the problem is.
This is however not an easy process as they need to rule out a lot of factors.

Kind Regards

XXX

So for anyone considering making use of them...don't. I will be making a separate thread as well shortly.

My brother also get these low speeds from time to time, using their Mikrotik router. My brothers neighbor told them the first day to keep their router and he used his own, getting full speed throughout the day. maybe get your username and pass and dial in with a different router?

I think a thread should be started that reviews fibre ISP's! Hell, can even create a site that allows users to capture their experience...

It's scary that you can 'loose' hundreds of Rands on a bad service.

Nervous that I went with iConnect....haven't seen much info on them.
