Inflation falls for third month in a row

Paid R17 for loaf of bread yesterday... :cry:

Going to start ordering groceries online, seems cheaper than my local stores

Agreed, reeks of BS. I take more or less the same stuff every month, give or take a bit, and the grocery bill just keeps on going up.

That's easy, you take a government that wants to hide its millions of failures and you instruct the government stats department to cook the books so that the interest rate at least doesn't keep rising ...

And companies uses that as a basis for increases, which means you are going backwards, year on year ...

Depending on the bread? But I paid R10 for Sasko Brown Premium yesterday at PnP, I did pay R17 for a bottle of Coca Cola though.

Yeah, it was all that was left... seems they order like 2 loafs of the cheap stuff, and 998 of the expensive, if not early enough, all I get left with is the expensive ones:( Looking online though, seems maybe I'll be guaranteed the ones I want, and not just whats on the local shelf /shrug

Well, if you take a look at the actual publication that konfab posted earlier you'll see that the stats agree with you. Food inflation is running at 7% p.a. with inflation on meat at 13% p.a. and sugar, sweets, etc at 17% p.a.

It's quite easy to work out an approximate measure of your personal inflation rate by just replacing the weights used in the headline CPI construction with the weighting in your actual expenses.

Seeing as most people on mybroadband are probably in the higher LSM brackets the weights used for headline CPI are not directly relevant. CPI is used to measure price inflation for everybody in the country, the vast majority of which are in the lower LSM brackets.

Yup, and we have increasingly crazy strikes and wage increase demands because of it. Of course that the whole economy has been f-ed by the guavamint is something entirely lost on the hungry workers demanding more pay so they can afford higher costs, caused by their guavamint in the first place.

Each and every one of those strikes should be directed at Zuma, and the demand should be for his head, not wage increases.

I have the yard space. Built a serious caged off area:

9 Gum poles
2 layer fence with airgap - Outward facing is 2.5mm with 50mmx90mm arpetures, inside is birdmesh (small holes )
Wooden gate door
Going to be putting m200 all around the base of the fence to prevent digging, good luck to my dogs. Already had monkeys lying on top ( roofed the top with fencing as well because I know those f***kers are gonna try steal my eggs!
