Informative information regards to choosing a ISP provider

I'm on a Afrihost 384kb/s uncapped account and due to being throttled for downloading around 16GB per month I started looking at what options I have.
My options seems to be: (1) Upgrade my account to a business account, (2) upgrade my line speed and account to 1024kb/s or (3) change my ISP.

While Looking at my options and emailing the help desk I thought about what the average user's bandwidth usage is on the different line speeds. I asked my ISP what the average users usage is and also suggested to them they should publish it on their website and keep it updated. This would help so many clients to make an informative decision on which package they should select according to their own bandwidth usage. It could also be interesting if all ISP's publish this information.

Well, I was told on the 384kb/s uncapped account the average usage is between 10GB - 15GB and on the 1024kb/s uncapped account it is 25GB - 30GB.

I do not download torrents or large files, but my high bandwidth usage is do to me connecting via VPN to my work to do my work from home and some general internet browsing.

But now I also have a question:
What advice do you people have for me regarding my three options and what would you suggest i do?
Should I:
(1) Change my account to a business account (staying on a 384kb/s line);
(2) Change my line speed and account to a 1024kb/s service; or
(3) Change my ISP (if this, who would you recommend?)

I would appreciate all the suggestions and advice you people (who know more than me) can give me.

Get Telkom uncapped. Should be perfect for you. The 1meg trial is still on I think.

Telkom uncapped (doBroadband) is even more throttled. They have fixed limits throughout the day. You only get full speed on your account from 10pm - 6am.
I don't want a 384Kb/s or 1Mb/s line and only have halve of that speed available to me during business hours.
But thanks for the advice.
 
nope they say its throttled, but they don't actually limit you.

people report full speed 24/7

Local is unthrottled which is what the VPN will be used for.
