Insane PC (Person :))

7900GTX xxx editions SLI'ed Corsair low latency pairs 4Gb and Wes Dig Raptors all stuck on an DFI Lan Party, Thermaltake water cooling in a Cav3 Chassis while looking at a 19" Viewsonic 2ms LCD and I am in heaven

I recon with that kinda money you should be able to get a MONSTER PC ;)

When I bought my PC in Nov, with 7800GTX, 2gigs RAM, Dell 20" Wide Screen, AMD 3500, 250gig HDD it came to roughly 12k.

So with 35k I think it'll be overkill. Get a decent spec PC, and save the cash ;)

I couldn't agree more with this guy. Get a Decent PC setup, something with a nice display and awesome graphics and save the rest. 2 years from now your UBER PC will look like a pocket calculator compared to what's out then and you're going to be VERY sorry that you spent all your cash on it.

Spend R15k on a decent machine. And R15k on buying a robotic leg for someone in need of it
/me runs for cover

alternatively. Buy some cool clothes, get a haircut and find a girlfriend :D

LOL!! that's an even better idea although a girlfriend is a running-expense dude...it will work out much more than R40,000 eventually, trust me.

You know im not looking for quad SLI or anything (thats the kind of stuff you use to play oblivion maxxed out on an IMAX screen :))

But i can afford an awsome system for around R35k so whats the problem? :)

Nah there is no problem :)

Just that you will have an awesome systemfor R35k but in 6 months you would be lucky if it were worth R15k

Never buy at the very top, as Mr Anderson has found out if you buy at the top you lose a lot of cash.

unless you dont plan on selling it at some point and you are happy with pretty much putting R35k in and losing most of it then I say go for it.

24" LCD From Dell is a must! R9k by itself but from what I hear its awesome.

Seriously dude. Just get a great low response time LCD, 19" or over, 19" is already pretty big on LCD btw.

Then get one WD Raptor 150GB harddrive to store games and windows, and however many 1TB or 300GB drives you'll need for what you want to store. Always get more than what you think you will need btw. Buy WD or the best quality you can find, you dont want a super machine ever breaking or anything!

Then get a fx-61 if you want to buy now, or just wait for the new AMD/Intel CPU, i think AMD will be better but thats just me.
Get a LanParty or any good board, as long as it has the features and is expensive and from a good brand, mobos dont matter that much.

Obviously a 7900GTX (two in SLI, not 4, thats a waste) and 512MB ones of course. Then get 4GB corsair or other quality low latency ram at DDR2 667 and your pretty much set.

Nice speakers are a must, so get 7.1 and a good sound card, or 2.1 if you cant fit souround sound. Creative arent really the best, there are more pro companys like Altec-Lansing or whoever.

Plent of coling and a cool case with cathodes etc.. and your set.
What else would you need?

Ummm, is there even a AMD FX-61 yet???

They dont have anything bout a FX-61 on AMD's website, and AFAIK the next one is going to be FX-62

um.. perfectly good question, I actually also thaught there was no such thing until I read about it right now in this thread.. too lazy to go check. The point is that the fx60 or fx61 is the best chip around at the moment.

7900GTX's are a waste, just get the Legend 7900GT's 512 and overclock it if you want.

Regarding the speakers I gotta dissagree.

If you are buying PC speakers there are only 2 options for high end surround. Creative Gigaworks S750 7.1's or Logitech Z-5500's The MEgaworks 550 are also pretty good but the 5500's are the best 5.1's. The Megaworks 550 are only slightly behind the 5500's but can be had for cheaper.

These might also be worth a look but I have heard they can be expensive.

Klipsch ProMedia 4.2
Klipsch ProMedia Ultra 5.1

I honestly fail to grasp what people are spending all this money on for these huge SLI setups....
Seriously, you are going to gain about 2 FPS in a gaming situation....
Fine you can step the resolution up one notch, but thats not worth paying so much for, after a certian res it's pretty pointless......
Funny how the whole SLI fad catches ppl......competitive benching sure, but bragging rights no,ppl with these huge set ups posting stock benches that can be beaten by medium hardware easy.
:)

Precisely
All about the 3-peen.
Post Edit:Sorry to sound negative but I could buy a second hand BMW for these prices.
