Instances and hunter pet

First I hear of it. If they do increase in size it's fractional.

I know there are a few pets that either are or were bugged so when they were tamed they remained their normal size.

Its like your wife going fat, you are with her everyday and dont notice the 100g here and there, but check the photo from when you started dating and it makes a diff.

Tame a lev 10 cat and tame a lev 80 cat and let them stand next to each other, the diff is nogal groot

Soulreaver, what level are you now?

I found at 32 a Gorilla owns everything at tanking. Keep AotV on for constant regen, spam mend pet and send your gorilla to grab groups of up to 5 mobs! Rinse + repeat

STV is the place to get them

Get yourself a gorilla as soon as possible. They are by far the best Tenacity pets out there for leveling/questing and even OTing if need be.

Get to level 32 then travel to Stranglethorn Vale and get a Gorilla, best crowd control pet ever.

Yup, I'll add my vote for the gorilla as the best tanking & AOE farming pet in the game, it really is awesome. That thunder stomp is amazing, critting for 2k+ on the odd occasion.

DPS pet wise though, I was very lucky & managed to get my hands on the spirit beast from Sholozar Basin, 10 minutes after deciding on a whim to look for her for the very first time. The ranged attack she does takes some adjusting to - it often pulls mobs within your minimum range, and it really doesn't work well with prowl atm - but over all she's a very sweet pet, & does some pretty hefty dps. And it goes without saying just how damn sexy she is :)

Awesome pet :D

Low dps pet though, and seems they wont buff it for the patch either. It still lack 10% dps to be on par with wolfs, raptors cats etc. Even with the cat and scorpid nerfs incoming they are still way below them on dps.
For now I cant see any reason to get the 51 point BM tallent, I rather get some useful other utility tallents.

If I was a hunter I would name my pets this:

Boar: Varkie
Raptor: Roflsaurus

My one mate was looking for a name for his pet Hyena ... so we called him "Steve" :D

The one dude in our guild has a gorilla pet & named it after our main tank :p

My gorilla pet's name is Bob ;)
Scorpion = Harvy (From Farscape)
Cat = Greebo (From Pratchett's books)

My 5 pets name in line are:

Cat: LOLcat (I've had him since I dinged level 10 and did the quests)
Devilsaur: ROFLsauras (I got him the day patch was released)
Ravager: SpY (after a very good friend from war3.co.za, SpY had also helped me many a time in PvE (btw he was one of those ravagers from Netherwing Ledge) up until patch 3.0.2 -ffs they should of made ravagers ferocity-)
Boar: Snorkle (I'm saving him up for a ham sandwich one of these days)
Gorrila: Gorriladin (best tanking pet IMO)

My current pet is that Tiger King found in STV. DPS is ok i guess. What i really want is a Devilsaur, but every Devilsaur i come across is not tameable (I have only seen a few in Un Groto Crater)

You have the 51 point BM tallent?
I have not seen a devilsaur that is not tameable...
The ones in Unguro are nice, even if they are a bit old school. And then there are the green one in Solashi basin (very rare spawn, and people kills i since it always drop a blue item and there is an achievement for it).

Hmmm no I don't have the 51 point BM talent. I don't spec in BM at all... Seems like a waste to me because in pvp the enemy won't attack my pet, it will come straight for me.

You need the BM talent at the bottom of the BM tree to allow you to tame exotic pets such as devilsaurs. But as it is now, there is no real benefit to having a devilsaur, since most normal pets out DPS the exotic pets.

So unless you want a bling pet... you dont gain anything. However the new patch will change a lot of the pet dps mechanics. If you are talking PVP then I would agree with you that BM is not ideally suited. However if you are PVE'ing and dont have the BM cookie cutter build... Then you are loosing out on a lot of DPS :)

lets say i get the 51 point BM talent and tame a exotic pet, then reset my talents and take nothing in BM spec, will i still be able to summon my exotic pet? i only have TBC expansion (not sure when the 51 point talent is available)

Scorpions or tortoises make good pets, loads of armour. I trained Krellack, the rare scorpion in Silithus. Used him as a tank for a few months, did a pretty good job.
