Instant Karma? Watch as Tailgating Driver Learns Dangerous Lesson After Getting Brake-Checked...

New dashcam video footage displays the dangers of tailgating other vehicles at high speeds.

A driver was tailgating another car last Thursday in Little Chute, Wisconsin when it crashed after the driver in front of him front brake-checked, WGBA-TV reported.

The incident took place at around 7 a.m. on Interstate 41.

The dashcam footage shows a black SUV trailing other vehicles on the highway when suddenly, the car in front slams on its brakes, causing tailgating driver to veer off the road to avoid a collision.

After the driver in front slammed on the brakes, the SUV apparently loses control as it skids from left to right. Moments later, the SUV slides off the road, skidding onto the grassy embankment in the middle of the highway....

Serves the fecker right...

HOWEVER brake checking is incredibly stupid and dangerous, don't do it!

How the video would've gone in SA though is the rear car would've undercut and taken out the car joining on the ramp.

Wth did the guy brake check him there was nothing in front of him. Yes he's being an ass for tailgating but does he deserve to die?

Actually he could have slammed into the break checker and killed them both.

Being on both sides of the situation a few times, I have to say that it all boils down to bad driving behavior.

The guy tailgating is an idiot, but sometimes you get real chops holding up the fast lane while there is clearly place to move over, however, sometimes when OVERTAKING in the fast lane, there will always be a guy in a Hilux or BMW that doesn't give you a chance to pass, he already drives up your ass while you are speeding up and overtaking.

Why is the idiot in front still still on the left?

What happened to drive right pass left? Why can't people just follow this simple rule. The right lane is wide open for the slower (front) vehicle.

The only retard in this video is the one doing the brake-checking in my opinion. Well that and that fact that the tail-gater obviously can't drive.

As should tailgating ...

I must admit, I usually pull aside and the clown go when I am tailgated ... rather late than not at all.

Agreed...but the tailgating wouldn't be necessary if the brake-checker was in the correct (slow) lane where he belongs.

Judging by the fact that you have to keep a safe following distance I think tailgating is illegal anyway, which is why if he does bump into the brake checker he's still at fault.

Basically all highways should have a minimum speed limit, and a higher limit for the right lane

Wasn't safe to move over yet, there was merging traffic from the right.
Watch the video again.

In this case though it's an intentional, unnecessary and completely unforeseen brake action for no reason whatsoever.

Since there is evidence in this case I suspect the tailgater would win. Even if for an unrelated charge like intention to do harm etc.

Watch the video again.

0:13 all the way to 0:24 is more than enough time to have gotten out of the way.

In the states it is common to stay in the "passing" lane if you can see merging traffic coming down the on-ramp. Given that, I don't think the guy stayed in his lane too long and I agree with you (cue the shock and dismay :p)

The filming vehicle looks quite big, I certainly would not get in front of it that quickly (car ahead looks to barely be 2 seconds ahead and the gap only increases because he is making space for the merging car). Maybe closer to 0:20 but by then the merging traffic is looking for that same spot and given the status quo in the states I find it perfectly reasonable that he didn't move over.

I just stop giving petrol if someone drives on my ass like that, eventually they get it.

You make a good point, I didn't take the truck taking the video into account.

That being said we all know the type...you can pretty much bet your bottom dollar he was planning to stay there all day.

Yeah that would be the more reasonable way to prove your point.

Tapping the brakes is not very high on the self preservation list.

Absolutely .... what if the tailgater hadnt applied brakes ... this could have ended badly for everyone.
