The principle of insurance is to put the insured in the same financial position that they were in immediately before the loss or damage occurred.

One should clearly not be prejudiced financially.

what are the t's and c's in your policy schedule ?

Instead of a cash payment...would they not be able to replace (like for like). Get same model vehicle , similar mileage.


I have heard off similar instances whereby this was possible.

That situation generally only applies with new vehicles that are less than a year old.

And after a week the vehicle starts giving shyte then who is to sort that out.

Very impractical and hazardous.
