Insurance/Vehicle Registration implications when doing an engine swap

This question comes from a shower thought I just had. What are the legal/insurance implications when swapping your cars engine for performance gains in SA?

So for example if one were to perform a K20/K24 swap on a Honda Jazz? This is of course ignoring all the technical and cost implications (I'm guessing those are a whole other thread).

Just curious as there seem to be many folks overseas doing these mods on socials and YouTube, etc. Are they just risking it? Or is there more to this?

Ok I see. I wasn't actually aware that these types of mods were accepted by insurance companies - genuinely coming from a place of ignorance around this topic.

Was hoping to get some accounts of other members experiences and advice.
