Got a 7950gx2 from asus, plumbed into the 975xbx mobo and conroe (yes, you can do sli on the intel chipset with this card because the 7950gx2 is seen as "one" card)
all defaults:
3dmark01:44833
3dmark03:33002
3dmark05:14713
3dmark06:8347
Very good, not fantastic though.
upped core and mem on gfx to 609 core, 800mem
3dmark01:46790
3dmark03:38433
3dmark05:16131
3dmark06:9645 (sm2, 4334...sm3, 4179...cpu, 2520)
Tomorrow maybe will spend some time with cpu multi, fsb and memory timings, everything is still at default bar the 7950gx2.
This looks very promising to me.
Would love to see where this can end up if I ever decide on exotic cooling( intel stock hsf in use right now)
<edit> also managed a 7928 in pcmark05..I believe this is a rather strong score)
Intel is back guys.

I dropped the mem clock 20mhz coz I started to notice some tearing once the lid was on the casehence the diff of around 500 marks
werner said:no, i dont see the point, i have already proven the results are valid.
anyway, i am not a futuremark "pro" user, just a lowly junkie, so can only have one active project at a time i believe.
werner said:what I mean is, why the heck must I go and upload 4 more benches to orb, which takes about an hour at least to do, when I have already told you guys the results? I have work to do during the day
I know I sound defensive..sorry, thats my nature
peace bruvva
when I find the time, I will do it, but really really really bored of benching today. cool.
