So why doesn't Intel just call it Pentium 5.1 Pentium 5.2, Pentium 5.3 ???

How hard is that?

A guy I used to know told me [in 2003] that he had documentation on a forthcoming Pentium 5 and that there was a Pentium 6 in the pipeline. I later told him that there was a Dual Core on its way in [2005?].... he never mentioned his Pentium 5/6 again...
