True, cause big companies buy big amounts of pc's, but all of this is about to change even more now with the advent of cloud computing (and is already changing), to the point where if all is as it is promised the normal paper pusher requires only a web browser and domain login (can't wait till that time, life would be so much simpler for our IT guys)

Firstly, this will only happen once internet pricing (in SA) decreases massively.
Secondly, why not merely setup a diskless system and run thin clients as workstations and save large amounts on both licensing, hardware and support issues? It's a pity more companies aren't tech-savvy enough to do this, and companies that sell to them/advise them, don't want to do this as they then lose profits.
