Intel price drops!

Sooo... general FPS in gaming shouldn't improve either?? Any idea when any Qcore optimised games are expected??

What computer shop do you own/work for? And do you have a web-site, seems you update your prices quite regularly, so I wouldn't mind keeping a eye on it.

I'm assuming you work in Pretoria?

I have have/had a business i run/ran from home called Work and Play Computers. I have the website basis, just not time and all the skills to put in proper content and keep it properly updated. I now have a contract job for 6 month at Home Affairs.

I'm meeting a potensial business partner tomorrow and hopefully I can get my business properly running again in a week or two and maybe even the website up with pricelists. You cant imagine how difficult it can be to reconsile 8 different pricelists to give a client the best price and then half the people are out of stock of the things that matter most...

And yes, I stay and work in PTA...

You'll only really see an increase if you've got an 8800GTX. Those cards are seriously CPU dependent. Also the quad cores apparently overclock like demons. So if you're in to that it might be worth it.

I'll get myself one in September. Don't have the cash now.

Hmmm, maybe now's the time to get that Vigin credit card. :)

Well thats not what i heard..:p Apparently they don't eg: the E6600 vs the Q6600.. the e6600 would overclock much better because it would produce less heat on itself since it only has 2 cores and as for the Q6600 having 4 means you get more heat, so unless you have some super cooling you not gonna get far past 3 ghz:cool:

I still hate intel even if they have better chips, now everyone comes out and says how AMD is dead?

AMD had better chips for years.

You are wrong. They just barked up the wrong tree a few years, Remember the last P4's and subsequent C2D is based on the old P3 or rather improved M version. So they had it all along just did not realize that. CEO's fault? BTW AMD IS dead A Measure Death, now married with ATI so what we call them now AMDTI or ATIMD?:D

lol, this is so off topic, just wanting to throw in a few AMD feelings in :D IOW the old intel dualcore "D" was better than the AMD X2. mmmh, interesting

You obviously know fall about processors and should maybe keep quiet on the whole subject and listen and gain wisdom. No P4 was anywhere more like a P3 than any other one. They didn't "have it all along" and not realise it :rolleyes:
