Intel Skulltrail

Skulltrail is rubbish for gaming and overclocking as well actually.
The board design is shocking as well on the 5400. Yes you can SLI and Crossfire, but you can't fit two 3870X2 cards in there nor can you fit two 9800GX2 cards in the system for a 4 GPU configuration and why not? PCIe spacing is all wrong. The two closest to the CPUs are too close together and the last two on the south of the Mobo are too far from the other two and in trun they are two close together.

No crossfire dongle is that long and the NVIDIA SLI 200 chip is only functonal on one pair of PCI-e slots which are too close to use for anything requiring a dual slot cooler. Ergo no 9800GX2/GTX260/280. With low profile water blocks you can use 9800GTX and most other single PCB cards but the whole thing is a nightmare.

Ram performance is rubbish, highest rated FB-Dimms we can buy are 800MHz, there are 1066 sets from crucial I believe but they are hediously expensive and have rubbish timings.

As for what Intel builds boards for, its not stability over performance, its stability, then economy, sometimes its the other way around. I've used and owend every single Intel high end board in the Bad Axe range since the 955 and I tell you their neither reliable nor are thye speedy and/or overclockable like GB/ASUS/DFI etc.. boards
