For those who invest/trade the US stock market, what are your opinions on Intel Corp. The share price has been declining and intel has been one of the tech companies that have been struggling, causing massive investor sell offs.

What are you opinions? Looking to diversify my investment portfolio to include tech stocks, besides precious metals, crypto and energy.

Why the interest in a struggling company when there are so many better choices in the same sector?

Intel is a world leader in many many aspects... never discredit them. Probably the only company that designs and manufactures its own chips. Ask any IT guy on here what their server chips are? I bet Intel Xeon.. the majority of them are worldwide.

I own their stock

I don't own any stock in Intel but I do use their products. Most people think Intel = desktop and server processors.
I am a significant user of this Intel portfolio:

never discredit the power of Intel
80% of worldwide mobile cpus
75% of worldwide pc cpus
125,000 employees
huuuuge data centers etc etc

all companies go through ups and downs. Their stock price is at a very very low and attractive offer right now.

And also the huge tech legacy, how many Intel designs still live in modern forms? Plenty!

Intel will bounce back just like AMD did.
In general all semiconductor companies have up and down cycles- it's normal.
General blanket statements about "ARM is better" and "Intel sucks" are from people who do not actually use/implement products with the technology.

ARM cores are very prolific in the mobile space as we all know. Apple have developed their own SoC (processor, memory controller, etc) for their computers. By the same token Sun Microsystems use their SPARC architecture for their machines.

This is almost like having an argument of which microcontroller is the best? None of them are. They all have different strengths and weaknesses and it is up to the designer to choose the best one for a given application and cost target

Probably wouldn’t choose SPARC today, though.
