Maybe the providers should just block all A2P business.

That will stop all spammers, including VODACOM23.

That will sort out Streicher's business as well, and then he can take early retirement !

And all the consumers will be very happy !

To appease Streicher's concerns about A2P spam and scams they can charge 0.000001 cent per sms = 1c for 1 000 000 sms's!!

i think this guy is a Nazi:somebody run a backround check on him

Pieter Streicher, Managing Director of BulkSMS.com, feels strongly that South African networks should introduce interconnect charges for SMS, without increasing the current pricing structure for sms messaging.
RPM, this calls for a poll!! Suggestion:
Pieter Streicher is:
  1. Totally crazy
  2. A clown
  3. Living in a dream world
  4. Clueless when it comes to understanding networks will always recover costs from the consumer
  5. All of the above

Let's pray this Streicher guy doesn't have a hotline to the minister or something...

As far as I recall we have some of the highest SMS charges around?

reduce the cost of SMS to 5 cents on net with an interconnect of 2 cents i.e. 7 cents offnet

this will do be a massive boost to communications, particularly in rural areas

and the operators will still have profit margins in excess of 200%

Sigh,
SMS's cost 1/180th of ZAR1 on other "3rd world" networks. Don't encourage them with talk of 5c.

Mr Streicher, please go preach your inter connect fees else where. You are not loved in this country.

Not a very smart thing to say, given all the hype around voice interconnect rates...

This is idiot is insensitive. What the ?#9!,(* did he smoke. We're still grappling with the fact that MTR is expensive (including the cost of telecommunication in general), and he comes out of nowhere to blow a fresh f@rt in our midst. Nee man, ek will nie vloek nie man, maar */?!#**.
