Interconnect policy direction officially withdrawn

I wonder what Nyanda is getting in his stocking from MTN and Vodacom.

F.........................k!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

same thing happened when they wanted to change the contract lockin lengths...we will continue to be milked....money talks!

So what? The policy directive was useless in terms of the law, and already superceded by events. The DoC, Parliament and ICASA have already agreed the way forward on interconnect rates, which is to accelerate the process already laid down in the ECA. The targets have been set: March for the determination of Significant Market Power. June for a determination on cost based interconnect rates. Meanwhile the Cell Cos have cut the rates in the interim.

This threadbare article looks like it was purposely designed to spark a kneejerk reaction from the uninformed.

That's what I said in a few words in my post. It was predictable.

Your mobile costs down? Mine sure aren't. And like travelgate... they will bury it long enough for people to forget about it. I wish I was wrong, but I doubt the minister will travel down this road again. Vodacom and MTN must be laughing their a$$ off.

What a load of crud!?!?

The true colours of our minister shines through!

We still want this directive to continue!

The AG should audit his businesses for payment from the operators demmit!

:twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted::twisted: WHAT ABOUT THE POOR LADS FROM MTN,TELKOM AND OTHER SP'S WHO GOT SACKED BECAUSE OF THIS MTR RUBBISH?DO THEY GET THEIR JOBS BACK?nbsp :wtf:

Well he got his two new beemers so why not ?

He got his beamers long before he made the directive. And the beamers are for his official use as a minister, rather than his property.

It seems politicians only have to scratch their noses these days to be accused of corruption.

It kind of makes any attempt at serious debate futile. People will believe whatever they want to believe, or have been conditioned to believe, whether the facts support such beliefs or not.

Hang on...

HTF do you use 2 cars for official use? Thats crap. He gets driven around, The beamer only gets driven by him on private business. the other gets driven by a family member. So theyre not his property, All that means is that he is not liable for fines or taxes. He still enjoys full use of them.
It seems politicians only have to scratch their noses these days to be accused of corruption.

Thats because its a signal that they want a bribe...

Unfortunately they are all guilty of covering each others asses. He may have had good reasons for withdrawing it, but I'm sure that they are not above board. He was paid or levered, or told to by someone higher who was paid or levered.
