I can not access any international sites. Are you experiencing the same?

For me it's been every Friday and psudo Friday (Like today).
Seems that the peoples start going moggy on the International content at about 11H30.

Watch - 16H55, everything will be back to normal.

Slow ADSL

I've recieved the following message from MWEB re. slow ADSL

Dear MWEB Member

Over the last few months we have noticed an increase in calls from our ADSL members to our technical support centres. In almost all of the cases we traced the problem back to a fault on the local Telkom exchange to which your ADSL line is connected. This is particularly true on smaller Telkom exchanges outside of big cities. You may have read in the press recently about Telkom's aggressive roll-out of ADSL services countrywide, and it may be that they are over-extending their resources in the process.

The Internet services that we provide to you (such as Web access, e-mail, and other online tools) on top of Telkom's broadband access service are adversely affected as a result, and we understand the frustration that this must be causing you. Consequently, we are engaging Telkom at the very highest levels of their organisation to ensure that they address these problems as a matter of urgency. They have given us their assurance that they will do so and we will continue to monitor the situation closely, and bring pressure to bear, until such time as we believe that the overall quality of service has reached an acceptable level.

Kind regards

My WOW latency has gone from 400ms to 3454ms and at worst 8446ms and I'm in the middle of an INSTANCE, damn TELKOM and their so called infrastructure...

Is that actually possible ? I was under the impression that anybody paying a teklom bill hated them. Maybee i'm just nieve (How in the hell do you spell that - caren't even use dictionary.com to check.).

Yep thats intolerable, my instance was i just sold 16million rand in weapons, and trying to do upgrade, and i get the zero sized reply instance.
And with all that gold lying around............. well if you played it
Oh YE BTW thats kingsofchaos and i play that after i found that my Ib doesnt do pings lower than 600 to 800 in wow even on a ZA server.
So even http games are not immune to SHAPING it seems.

as this is my first post ON ADSL - all installed - this is hardly the wild thing I'd been expecting, pings to yahoo in the 1100ms range, with 20% packet loss, irc stuttering between 0.7 and 2k, dc++ not really working..

as a brand new.. - wooo - mid-b*tch I see a PHAT difference suddenly..
okay, irc d/l 9 - 10k, which for me is fine.. pings to yahoo down to 300ish, no packet loss

still dont seem to be able to get DC++ downloading anything - not even peoples file lists - if anyone has info or config info needed for happiness on Axxess+DC++, please advise.
Also there's no extra 'proxy settings' needed for any appz is there? (IRC, DC++)

(sorry to hijack the thread, I wont do it again :P

Up again! :) Let's hope it stays up.... for weeks and months and years...
