International down again?

Spent 40 minutes on the hurry up and wait line, then got a clueless type, who does not understand, that my computer is connected to the router, that the router is connected to the internet, that I am logged into my telkomsa.net account, that I can access URL's that I have an IP address for, but I cannot access any URL's using the form www.google.com.

As, the ping below shows ...

Then I got disconnected - after another 20 minutes of waiting, I just hung up ...

Hell. Down again! "Seacom - now with enhanced WTF™"

Left my cellphone at home this morn so I can't even tweet Gian to hear what's up.

How crap is IS bandwidth!!!!??! Second biggest ISP in the country and they've got sweet ****-all backup. Thankfully I'm on a Telkom account for most of the month, and until IS or MWeb can offer "carrier grade" reliability, I'm not changing.

*Bangs head*

*Bangs head again*

*Takes a grandpa*

I think some ISP or network provider with sour grapes must be sabotaging the cables.

They probably want the good 'ol days of >R70/GB back. ;)
