International down - Cape Town?

Yip had same story this afternoon at work in town and now home in Camps Bay as well :(.
Some sites ok others basically dead.
 
Same in Cape Town on iBurst... SAIX or general international problems then?

Works fine one time then gone the next :/
 
Same problem here in Crawford, managed to log onto Guild Wars but the latency is horrendous. Half an hour ago I couldn't connect to a thing.
 
Hout Bay - I haven't encountered any int'l sites that I can't get to, but I did have trouble streaming You Tube earlier, and GMail via pop3 is unusable; it downloads all of 5 k before finally giving up. I can access it (with some patience) through the web interface, but only after waiting 5 minutes for the "GMail is taking a long time to load - would you like to use the HTML interface" message to appear.

Oh, and p2p is hovering around 10kB/s at best.

All websites (local/int) were completely stuffed. Logged a fault, had a technician out, and now browsing is a lot better, but none of my games work yet. Can't login to anything. (WoW player).

And, no point in asking telskum for answers :(.

Email just started poring in, so it must be up again, strange thing is it came back at about this time last night too.
Must be some kind of planned maintanance that they have failed to communicate.
 
I'm still down, gmail via pop just not getting through other than a few ks worth, then times out. We really do have a f.u. of a telecoms company
 
Yet another frustrated EVE player. Wynberg area was same yesterday. I demand T2 internet fo rmy T2 pricing structure :)

international is buggy and international speeds crappy.. uploads seem fine tho :/

I am in Fish Hoek and am having exceptional slow to non existant international net. Even local is slower than usual. I am using a Webafrica shaped telscum acc. As of 21:48 12-04-2007, it takes about 5 min to load the average international site and my download of the spiderman 3 hd trailer keeps timing out and if it can get something its like <1kb/s. WTF is wrong with telscum ? does the fact that their ceo resigned mean that their net totally stops working ?

I have tried using my Openweb and WedAfrica accounts and lets just say that slow would be a compliment!! My speedtests on a 384 K line were slower than 56K dial up and at best just a bit slower than a 128K ISDN!!

Phoned Helkom faults and when I did their speed test pretty much nothing happened, so have reported a fault. Lets see what this does.

I guess this is one way of conserving one's cap!! :(
 
can't access gmail again :'( and international is slow .. luckily finish my download earlier
